Mniejszości narodowe na pograniczach. Pomiędzy tożsamością narodową a obywatelską

Abstract

Socio-cultural borderlands are a very important laboratory to investigate the relations between national and civil identity. National minorities in borderlands are in the conditions of double expectations steered to them, on the one hand, by national majorities organized in the state where individual minorities live, and on the other hand, by"mother" nations, often also organized in the state. The article presents the expectation of national majorities as well as the expectation of national majorities with regard to "one's" minority beyond borders. The basic theses of the article concern the reaction of national minorities to the expectation of predominant state majorities.
