Transfer – transgresje – translokacje. O zbiorze Odessa transfer. Reportaże znad Morza Czarnego

Abstract

The author analyses the collection of reportage Odessa transfer. Reportaże znad Morza Czarnego (Odessa Transfer: Reports from the Black Sea) released in 2009. The volume was created as a collective project. The authors were asked for unfettered contributions about Odessa and the entire area of the Black Sea basin. The idea was picked up by writers from various countries, not only those lying by this sea – among them there were two Germans, a Briton and a Pole. In thirteen texts (actually fourteen, because the preface by Katharina Raabe can be considered almost as a regular essay centred around the topos of the non-hospitable sea) the authors took the topic of the difficult rooting and the painful uprooting from a space. A variety of genres, styles and languages mixing not only within this volume, but also within individual texts, were used to restore the intricacies and movements taking place in the sphere of individual and collective consciousness, becoming clearer in the days of subsequent historical breakthroughs.
