Литературная топология Одессы в исследованиях краеведов

Abstract

The article specifies the focus areas of regional and cultural studies which research the literary space of Odessa. It is stressed that the work of local historians is characterized by a variety of subjects and points of view. The search for the typological algorithm using this research practice allows to conclude that local historians tend to identify the literary profile of Odessa in the topological format. It seems that this information for todays academic philology and art history can serve as a basis in the research of Odessa geo-cultural and literary space. It is precisely the type of writing which through literary topoi and loci brings us not only to the landscape images of the city, but also to the historical reality of the past pattern of Odessa and the mentality of its inhabitants. How to identify the phenomenon of Odessas literary text with philological research tools? During the beginning of the new millennium the philological thought towards an interdisciplinary, integrative methodology created in its discourse a whole range of new generalizing typological categories. These include: 1. the category of geo-cultural space, usually associated with certain territorial boundaries; 2. the model of the literary text of the city, which is regionaly determined. The further practice of scientific reflection in the field of philological identification of the geo-cultural space of Odessa and the topics of Odessas literary text suggest the development of an adequate theoretical-methodological base and terminological culture. These concepts have already entered the lexicon of local historians. They are specified as a research tool of literary criticism as proved by our conference.
