Kompetencje międzykulturowe studentów. Studium teoretyczno-empiryczne

Abstract

Intencją podjętych badań w rozprawie doktorskiej było przygotowanie narzędzia określającego poziom kompetencji kulturowych, wielokulturowych, międzykulturowych i transkulturowych polskich studentów wydziałów pedagogicznych, by w konsekwencji przygotować kursy podnoszące poziom umiejętności polskich nauczycieli do pracy w zglobalizowanym i wielokulturowym świecie. Opracowane narzędzie może posłużyć doskonaleniu pracy przyszłych pedagogów, a co za tym idzie samych szkół. Może być użyteczne dla programów kształcenia i doskonalenia nauczycieli, a także pomocne w projektowaniu systemu wsparcia szkoły i nauczyciela. Model teoretyczny, który zastosowano w rozprawie, do wypracowania narzędzia do pomiaru otwartości do komunikacji międzykulturowej to Model Kompetencji Międzykulturowych Bem. Model ten powstał na podobnych założeniach jak piramida potrzeb Abrahama H. Maslowa, w której występuje hierarchią potrzeb, które powinny być realizowane kolejno od potrzeb pierwszego rzędu poprzez przechodzenie na wyższe poziomy. Podstawowym założeniem piramidy potrzeb jest konieczność zabezpieczenia potrzeb niższego rzędu, by móc realizować potrzeby kolejnych rzędów. Podobnie w Modelu Kompetencji Międzykulturowych Bem założono, że kompetencje kulturowe są podstawą budowania kompetencji kolejnych rzędów.

The intention of the research undertaken in the doctoral dissertation was to prepare a tool determining the level of cultural, multicultural, intercultural and transcultural competences of Polish students of pedagogical faculties, in order to consequently prepare courses improving the level of skills of Polish teachers to work in a globalized and multicultural world.The developed tool can be used to improve the work of future educators, and thus the schools them selves. It can be useful for teacher education and in-service training programs, as well as helpful in designing a school and teacher support system. The theoretical model that was used in the dissertation to develop a tool for measuring openness to intercultural communication is the Bem Intercultural Competence Model. This model was created on similar assumptions as the pyramid of needs of Abraham H. Maslow, in which there is a hierarchy of needs that should be realized successively from the needs of the first order by moving to higher levels. The basic assumption of the pyramid of needs is the need to secure the needs of the lower order in order to be able to meet the needs of subsequen trows. Similarly, in the Bem Intercultural Competence Model, it is assumed that cultural competences are the basis for building competences of subsequen trows.
