Miłość i bunt we współczesnej poezji białoruskiej

Abstract

The subject of this work is love and rebellion in the contemporary Belarusian poetry. The Belarussian literary work is very little known in the world. Especially contemporary works expressing opposition to the currently dominant authority there. The young authors - dissentients cannot distribute their work in the Belarusian press because of the government, they cannot create in their native language and organize meetings with authors and literary form legal groupings. They often meet in private houses and publish abroad, because it is the only way to propagate such works that they want to create. In this paper the author wants to show how contemporary Belarusian poets oppose the country's political system, refer to the homeland in their works, how they express both love, which can be seen in writing in their native language, and rebellion often hidden in their metaphors and other stylistic means. Particular attention is paid to the work of artists such as Walżyna Mort, Andrej Khadanovich, Andrej Adamovich, Vera Burlak, Anatol Iwaszczanka and Hleb Łabadzienka. First of all, the author of this article is going to focus on procedures, language games that the authors mention above use to describe their homeland. The goal is not an accurate analysis and evaluation of their poetry, but presenting how poetry can show simultaneously love and rebellion and dissention towards the place where they live.
