| Abstrakt: | The study is a concise attempt to determine the essential properties of King-Spirit, which resulted in the nature of the new critical edition of the text (both in physical and digital form). I divided the essay into two parts. In the first – devoted to the text – I characterise the essence of the fragmentary poetics of the masterpiece. In the second, in some notes on the epic poem, I strove to determine the complex and ambiguous nature of the narrator and the narration. |

| Nota biograficzna: | JACEK BRZOZOWSKI (1951–2017), prof. dr hab., historyk literatury, badacz romantyzmu. W latach 2003–2007 kierował Zakładem Poezji XIX i XX wieku Katedry Literatury Romantyzmu, Dwudziestolecia Międzywojennego i Literatury Współczesnej Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego. W 2008 roku otrzymał tytuł profesora nauk humanistycznych i od tegoż roku kierował Katedrą Literatury i Tradycji Romantyzmu UŁ. Był m.in. współautorem (obok prof. Zbigniewa Przychodniaka) nowego wydania krytycznego dzieł Juliusza Słowackiego: J. Słowacki, Poematy. Nowe wydanie krytyczne, t. 1: Poematy z lat 1828–1839; t. 2: Poematy i fragmenty z lat 1842–1849 (Poznań 2009). JACEK BRZOZOWSKI (1951–2017), Prof. Dr hab., literary historian, researcher of Romanticism. In 2003–2007, he headed the Department of Poetry of the 19th and 20th Centuries of the Department of Romanticism, Interwar Years and Contemporary Literature of the University of Łódź. In 2008 he was awarded the title of professor of humanities and from that year he headed the Department of Literature and Traditions of Romanticism at the University of Łódź. He was, among others, coauthor (with Professor Zbigniew Przychodniak) of a new critical edition of Juliusz Słowacki’s works: J. Słowacki, Poematy. Nowe wydanie krytyczne, vol. 1. Poematy z lat 1828–1839, t. 2. Poematy i fragmenty z lat 1842–1849 (Poznań 2009). |
