Abstract

Looking at the narrative in King-Spirit, one can see that it is based on non-memory, sometimes closely related to the ontological status, or the identity of the eponymous protagonist of the poem, who is taking on ever newer incarnations. It requires filling, like an empty sheet of paper waiting to be written on. And the weight of this writing cannot be overestimated. It is supposed to bring to light and explain the meaning of the existence of individuals and communities, the principles guiding history and existence. It is supposed to define the Alpha and Omega, relate about the beginning and present a vision of the end of the world. The non-memory or incomplete memory turns out to be the starting point of a narrative that is “unleashing”, cognitively active, aiming at answering basic epistemological and ontological questions, reaching absolute truths through anamnesis. From the perspective of the protagonist’s experience, however, it is a state of closure to the world of the spirit and openness to the reality of form. For the King-Spirit is not remembered when he drowns deep in carnality and, like Popiel, is forgotten in it, lost. It is a measure of genesian ignorance, ignorance of the beginning, the end, and the purpose of existence. That is why it often causes anamnesis, brings to the sensual world the reality of sleep, vision, revelation. Finally, it has a cleansing, initiative character, because it frees the spirit from the memory of the suffering that accompanied his work in the form, preparing him for the next stages of his journey towards Sunny Jerusalem.
