Król-Duch. Historia afektywna

Abstract

The article contains an attempt to read the story of the King-Spirit as a history of affect. It reveals itself in the poem in a special way in those fragments that lose their narrative coherence – under the surface of the story and myth – where the cultural symbolic codes lessen the action of the affect. In other words: this tears the emerging narrative, does not allow it to freeze into a finite form. Such a reading leads to a reconstruction of the subjectivity project proposed by Słowacki: not the rational one, but the affective, somatic and sensual one. The body reacting to the world, functioning within it, in relation to what Descartes described as stretched to separate it from the thinking being that is man. This functioning is dynamic, process oriented, takes place in a world of influences, in action.
