Антропологическая футурология Д. Глуховского: антроподицея и/или теодицея в романе Будущее

Abstract

The article deals with D. Glukhovsky’s novel Future as the phenomenon of anthropological futurology. The question discussed here is that by combining in the novel features of utopia and dystopia, ironic rethinking of Bible stories and images of ancient mythology, the author refers to the moral and philosophical issues of life and death, immortality and the meaning of life. The extrapolation in the future issues of a day allows Glukhovsky to show possible negative consequences of a thoughtless attitude to scientific discoveries as well as a crisis of faith and religion. The story of the protagonist’s soul development reveals the author’s confidence in the vital forces of mankind, which is able to overcome the temptation of a mechanical body’s immortality. The novel’s analysis leads to the conclusion that the main issues for the author are the problems of anthropodicy and theodicy.
