Abstract

The article discusses the conception of time of Nabokov on the example of the story A visit to the museum. The reflection of time and space in the story is based on the principle of spatial and temporal palimpsest. While traveling through the rooms of the French museum, Nabokov’s hero of the story travels in time and gets in the post-revolutionary St. Petersburg. Sensing their incompatibility with the time, the hero comes back, “in the past”. Thus, in the future there is no concept of time Nabokov.
