Debiuty Mickiewicza, debiuty Romantyków. Studia w 200. rocznicę debiutu wieszcza: 1818–2018

Abstract

The present volume is an outcome of the project dedicated to the rarely analyzed problem of Adam Mickiewicz’s poetic debut. The project involved organizing the International Conference “Mickiewicz’s Debuts, Romantics’ Debuts. Traditions – Strategies – Ideas – Language” (Białystok 9–10 November, 2018), which was a part of the 200th anniversary (1818–2018) of the publication of Zima miejska (City Winter) by Adam Mickiewicz, and the 100th anniversary (1918–2018) of regaining independence by Poland. The Conference was held at the Branicki Palace and the Łukasz Górnicki Library in Białystok. The event was organized by the Chair f Philological Studies “East–West” (KP), the Faculty of Philology at the University of Białystok (UwB), the Faculty I of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (PAU), and the Łukasz Górnicki Library. The idea of the project and the conference was conceived by Professor Jarosław Ławski (UwB, PAU), who was supported by Professor Lucjan Suchanek (PAU, UJ) and Jolanta Gadek (KP). The Scholarly Committee was headed by Professor Halina Krukowska (UwB) and Professor Julian Maślanka (PAU). The organization efforts were coordinated by Łukasz Zabielski, PhD, and Michał Siedlecki, PhD, both representing the Scholarly Unit of the Łukasz Górnicki Library in Białystok. The panel discussions focused on the following problems: – The 1818 debut of Mickiewicz: its context and interpretations – Debut or debuts? Mickiewicz and the “debut situation” – Mickiewicz and the debutants from Vilnius: the Philomaths and the Filarets – The debuts of Polish and European Romantics – The Romantic’s debut: context, manifesto, ideas – The debuts of West European and American Romantics – The debuts of Central and East European writers associated with Romanticism – Comparative perspectives on the notion of debut – Debut in interdisciplinary perspectives: psychology, psychoanalysis, sociology, philosophy, and cultural history – Regional conditions of a debut – The tradition of interpreting the debuts of Mickiewicz and other Romantics – Debut as represented in arts, film, radio, and mass media The Conference brought together fifty-one scholars from Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Ukraine, and Belarus. The participants visited the Wierszalin Theatre in Supraśl to see Dziady (Forefathers’ Eve) directed by Piotr Tomaszuk. The present volume comprises twenty-eight essays and case studies, grouped into four chapters: I. “The Problems of the Debut: Zima miejska,” II. “Mickiewicz’s Transformations. Concepts and Metaphors,” III. “The Romantic Debutants,” and IV. “Interpretative Postscript.” The papers ed a new light on the poetic debut understood as a cultural and literary phenomenon and bring innovative and modern interpretations of Zima miejska, Mickiewicz’s debut poem, as well as new ways of interpreting the “classical school” to which Mickiewicz was apprenticed at the dawn of his literary career. Numerous texts are dedicated to the works of Polish, European and American Romantics: Antoni Malczewski, Juliusz Słowacki, Zygmunt Krasiński, Józef Bohdan Zaleski, Stefan Witwicki, Marcin Rosienkiewicz, Ludwik Sztyrmer, Alexander Pushkin, Edgar Allan Poe, Ralph Waldo Emerson, as well as selected Romantics from Sweden. Moreover, the reader will find here essays dedicated to the phenomenon of a debut and the influence of Romanticism on such notable writers as Henryk Sienkiewicz, Gabriela Zapolska, Tadeusz Miciński, Witold Hulewicz, or Walter Benjamin. Organized in 2018, the Conference initiated a series of events that will commemorate important anniversaries from Mickiewicz’s life: the publication of his Poezje (Poems, 1822), Sonety krymskie (The Crimean Sonnets, 1824), Konrad Wallenrod (1828), Dziady. Część III (Forefathers’ Eve. Part III, 1832), and Pan Tadeusz (1834). The papers in the present volume were edited by Professor Jarosław Ławski (UwB) and Łukasz Zabielski, PhD (the Łukasz Górnicki Library in Białystok) in collaboration with the Faculty I of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Kraków and the Faculty of Philology at the University of Białystok.

Dieser Band ist das Ergebnis eines Forschungsprojekts, das sich mit dem selten analysierten Thema von Adam Mickiewiczs poetischem Debüt befasst. Im Rahmen des Projekts wurde die Internationale Wissenschaftskonferenz „Mickiewiczs Debüts, die Debüts der Romantiker. Traditionen – Strategien – Ideen – Sprache“ (Białystok, 9.–10. November 2018) organisiert, die Teil der Feierlichkeiten zum 200. Jahrestag der Veröffentlichung von Zima miejska [Städtischer Winter] von Adam Mickiewicz (1818–2018) und dem 100. Jahrestag der Wiedererlangung der Unabhängigkeit Polens (1918–2018) ist. Die Konferenz fand im Branicki-Palast und im Hauptquartier der Podlasie-Bibliothek in Białystok statt. Sie wurde gemeinsam von der Abteilung für philologische Forschung „Ost-West“, der Philosophischen Fakultät der Universität Białystok, der Philologischen Fakultät der Polnischen Akademie der Gelehrsamkeit und der Podlasie-Bibliothek (Forschungsabteilung) organisiert. Initiator des Forschungsprojekts und der Konferenz, die dem Debüt von Mickiewicz gewidmet waren, war Prof. Jarosław Ławski (UwB, PAU) der bei der Umsetzung dieses Vorhabens von Prof. Lucjan Suchanek (PAU, Universität Krakau (UJ)) und Dir. Jolanta Gadek (KP) unterstützt wurde. Der wissenschaftliche Ausschuss wurde von Prof. Halina Krukowska (UwB) und Prof. Julian Maślanka (PAU, UJ) geleitet. Mickiewicz und die „Debütsituation“. – Mickiewicz und die Debütantengemeinschaft von Vilnius: Philomaten, Philareten. – Debüts polnischer Romantiker und Debüts europäischer Romantiker. – Romantisches Debüt: Situation, Manifest, Ideen. – Debüts westeuropäischer und amerikanischer Romantiker. – Debüts von Autoren der romantischen Formation aus Mittel-Osteuropa. – Vergleichende Auffassung des Debüts. – Debüt in der interdisziplinären Auffassung: Psychologie, Psychoanalyse, Soziologie, Philosophie, Kulturgeschichte. – Regionale Bedingungen des Debüts. – Interpretationstradition des Debüts von Mickiewicz und anderen Romantikern. – Das Debüt als Darstellung: Bildende Kunst, Film, Radio, Medien. Die Konferenz war international. 51 Forscher aus Polen, der Schweiz, Deutschland, Österreich, Bulgarien, der Ukraine und Weißrussland waren anwesend. Die Gäste der Konferenz sahen eine Produktion des Wierszalin-Theaters in Supraśl mit dem Titel Dziady. Noc Druga (Totenfeier. Zweite Nacht) unter der Regie von Piotr Tomaszuk. Dieser Band enthält 28 Aufsätze und Studien, die in vier Kapitel unterteilt sind: I. Über die Probleme des Debüts: «Städtischer Winter»; II. Mickiewiczs Verwandlung. Konzepte und Metaphern; III. Romantische Debütanten; IV. Interpretatives Postskriptum. Die Artikel beinhalten eine neue Erkenntnis des Phänomens des poetischen Debüts als kulturelles und literarisches Phänomen, als innovative und moderne Interpretationen von Städtischer Winter, Mickiewiczs Debütgedicht, sowie neue Ansätze und Interpretationen der „klassischen Schule“, in der der Autor Pan Tadeusz an der Schwelle seiner Karriere als Schriftsteller beendete. Einige der Texte wurden der Arbeit polnischer und europäischer Romantiker gewidmet: Antoni Malczewski, Juliusz Słowacki, Zygmunt Krasiński, Józef Bohdan Zaleski, Stefan Witwicki, Marcin Rosienkiewicz, Ludwik Sztyrmer, Aleksander Puschkin, Edgar Alan Poe, Ralph Waldo Emerson und auch ausgewählte schwedische Romantiker. Darüber hinaus findet der Leser in dem Band Artikel, die sich mit dem Phänomen des Debüts und den Auswirkungen der Romantik auf Persönlichkeiten wie Henryk Sienkiewicz, Gabriela Zapolska, Tadeusz Miciński, Witold Hulewicz und Walter Benjamin befassen. Die 2018 organisierte Konferenz beginnt mit einer Reihe Feierlichkeiten zu Mickiewiczs großen Jubiläen: der Veröffentlichung von Poezja [Poesie] (1822) Sonety Krymskie [Krimsonette] (1824) Konrad Wallenrod (1828), den dritten Teil der Totenfeier (1832), Pan Tadeusz (1834). Die Sammlung dieser Studie wurde von Prof. Jarosław Ławski (Universität Białystok) und Dr. Łukasz Zabielski (Podlasie-Bibliothek Łukasz Górnicki in Białystok) in Zusammenarbeit mit der Philologischen Fakultät der Polnischen Akademie der Gelehrsamkeit in Krakau und der Philologischen Fakultät der Universität Białystok herausgegeben.

Ce volume est le résultat d’un projet de recherche portant sur un sujet rarement analysé : les débuts poétiques d’Adam Mickiewicz. Dans le cadre du projet, la Conférence scientifique internationale a été organisée : « Les débuts de Mickiewicz, les débuts des auteurs romantiques Traditions – stratégies – idées – langage » (Bialystok, 9–10 novembre 2018). Elle s’inscrit dans la célébration solennelle des 200 ans de la sortie de L’Hiver en ville (Zima miejska) de Adam Mickiewicz (1818–2018), et du 100ème anniversaire de la reconquête de l’indépendance de la Pologne (1918–2018). La conférence a eu lieu au palais Branicki et au siège principal de Książnica Podlaska im. Łukasza Górnickiego à Bialystok. Elle a été organisée conjointement par le département de recherche en philologie (Katedra Badań Filologicznych) « Est – Ouest » de l’Université de Bialystok, le premier département de philologie de l’Université de Bialystok, le département de philologie de l’Académie polonaise des arts et des sciences (Polska Akademia Umiejętności), ainsi que par Książnica Podlaska im. Łukasza Górnickiego (département de recherche). Le professeur Jarosław Ławski (UwB, PAU) est à l’origine du projet de recherche et est le fondateur de la conférence dédiée aux débuts de Mickiewicz. Mickiewicz face à la « situation des débuts ». – Mickiewicz et la communauté des débutants de Vilnius : philomates, philarets. – Les débuts des auteurs romantiques polonais et les débuts des auteurs romantiques européens. – Les débuts d’un auteur romantique : la situation, le manifeste, les idées. – Les débuts des auteurs romantiques américains et ceux de l’Europe occidentale. – Les débuts des écrivains de formation romantique d’Europe centrale et orientale. – Plans comparatifs des débuts. – Les débuts d’un point de vue interdisciplinaire : psychologie, psychanalyse, sociologie, philosophie, histoire de la culture. – Conditions régionales des débuts. – La tradition d’interprétation des débuts de Mickiewicz et des autres auteurs romantiques. – Les débuts en tant qu’image : beaux-arts, cinéma, radio, médias. La conférence avait un caractère international. 51 chercheurs venus de Pologne, de Suisse, d’Allemagne, d’Autriche, de Bulgarie, d’Ukraine et de Biélorussie y ont assisté. Les invités de la session ont assisté à la représentation des Aïeux (Dziady) au Théâtre de Wierszalin à Supraśl. Deuxième nuit (Noc druga) a été réalisée par Piotr Tomaszuk. Ce volume contient 28 essais et ateliers, regroupés en quatre chapitres : I. Les problèmes des débuts : « L’hiver en ville » (Zima miejska); II. Transformation de Mickiewicz. Concepts et métaphores; III. Auteurs romantiques débutants; IV. Interprétations postscriptum. Les articles apportent une nouvelle reconnaissance du phénomène des débuts poétiques en tant que phénomène culturel et littéraire, des interprétations innovantes et modernes de L’Hiver en ville (Zima miejska) – Le premier poème de Mickiewicz, ainsi que de nouvelles approches et interprétations de « l’école classique » dans laquelle l’auteur devait achever Messire Thadée (Pan Tadeusz) au début de sa carrière d’écrivain. Certains des textes ont été consacrés aux oeuvres des auteurs romantiques polonais et européens : Antoni Malczewski, Juliusz Słowacki, Zygmunt Krasiński, Józef Bohdan Zaleski, Stefan Witwicki, Marcin Rosienkiewicz, Ludwik Sztyrmer, Aleksander Puszkin, Edgar Alan Poe, Ralph Waldo Emerson, ainsi qu’aux oeuvres des auteurs romantiques suisses. En outre, le lecteur trouvera dans le volume des articles consacrés au phénomène des débuts et à l’impact du romantisme sur des personnalités telles que Henryk Sienkiewicz, Gabriela Zapolska, Tadeusz Miciński, Witold Hulewicz ou Walter Benjamin. Organisée en 2018, la conférence inaugure une série de célébrations solennelles des grands anniversaires de Mickiewicz : la publication de Poésie (Poezja) (1822) Sonnets de Crimée (Sonety krymskie) (1824),Konrad Wallenrod (1828), IIIème partie des Aïeux (1832), Pan Tadeusz (1834). Ce receuil d’études a été édité par le professeur Jarosław Ławski (Université de Bialystok) et le docteur Łukasz Zabielski (Książnica Podlaska im. Łukasza Górnickiego à Bialystok) en coopération avec le premier département de philologie de l’Académie polonaise des arts et des sciences de Cracovie et le département de philologie de l’Université de Bialystok.
