Sygnały przesilenia – rok 1984 z perspektywy ostatniego ćwierćwiecza

Abstract

The main aim of this article was to present the conditions for the functioning of rhetorical circulation in the first half of the 80s of the 20th century. Deep transformation of the collective consciousness left its strong mark on literary works, regardless of the channel they were to circulate in. The interpretation of the novels by Wiesław Myśliwski, Stone Upon Stone (Kamień na kamieniu), by Eustachy Rylski, Stankiewicz. Powrót (published in the official circulation), by Tadeusz Konwicki, Rzeka podziemna, podziemne ptaki (written for an underground publishing house) and texts written abroad confirm that the process of disintegration of collective myths, so far uniting the community, accelerated considerably in the ninth decade of the century. Hard as it was to accept and comprehend, the experience of having been deprived of the old order demanded to be present in literature – writers did their best to rise to the challenge, leaving in their works traces of reality existing outside.
