This study presents preliminary data about the Orientation Towards Scientific Work Scale and demonstrates the relationship between four different orientations toward scientific work (orientation toward quantity, orientation toward quality, orientation toward originality and orientation toward adaptation) and scientific practice as well as creative achievements in the domain of science. Thirty young scientists from Polish universities participated in the study. Correlation and regression analyses demonstrated that different orientations toward scientific work predict scientific activity and creative achievement in science. Thus, these results show the role of individual beliefs about work, for actual accomplishments in science.pl
