Phraseologische Modifikation als Mittel der Bewertung in deutschen und kroatischen Fußballberichten

Abstract

In diesem Beitrag werden modifizierte Phraseme als Mittel der Bewertung untersucht. Anhand von Belegen aus deutschen und kroatischen online Fußballberichten während der Fußballweltmeisterschaft zwischen dem 14. Juni und dem 15. Juli 2018 wurde untersucht, ob und inwiefern phraseologische Modifikationen der Bewertung dienen. Nachdem die Modifikationstechniken im gesammelten Korpus bestimmt worden sind, wurde die Analyse der Bewertung mit Hilfe von Parametern nach Bednarek (2006) durchgeführt.

This paper deals with the possibilities of evaluation through modified phrasemes in football reports during the FIFA World Cup in Russia. Online reports were read in German and Croatian newspapers between 14th June and 15th July 2018. The aim of the analysis was to find out whether phraseological modification can be linked with evaluation through parameters set by Bednarek (2006). The Croatian corpus shows more modifications, but both corpora show similar ways of expressing evaluation. Substitution, expansion and shortening are mostly used modification techniques for the parameters of emotivity, expectedness, reliability and importance. Modifications are used to evaluate decisions, play tactics, results, and behavior. The evaluative parameters are often emphasized through references in the rest of the sentence or the text. It can be concluded that phrasemes in football reports help create the evaluative context. Thereby, modification serves to specify evaluation and to interpret the used phrasemes.
