Abstract

The research in this article is a professional language of miners in Upper Silesia. The article has documented not only mining professional vocabulary of the different semantic groups, but morphological and syntactic (far fewer) treatment as nomination factors enriching resource of mining professional language were also shown. The study proved that over the 20 years (1995–2015) the miners’ language has remained in like state (with minor changes), irrespective of the changing working conditions, the infrastructure and the generation of miners, etc. Mining professional language as a standalone communication system remains in a good state most likely due to be rooted in the Silesian dialect, which firmly maintains the tradition.
