Abstract

The subject of the article is the neutrum category in modern French and its pronominal pronouns. The text examines the use of French pronouns in non‑personal constructs. The main part describes the use of some non‑personal pronouns and the competitive use of this pronoun in relation to the lexeme ça. The functions of pronouns indicating nouns and words in non‑personal constructions were also discussed. The greatest productivity of the pronoun ça occurs in the sociolect of children and adolescents, as well as in everyday language and in advertising texts. Some pronouns have the power of depersonalizing the verb. Sometimes it is possible to omit pronouns in colloquial speech. It was found that neutrum as a semantic category is still present in modern French.
