Problematyka polityki na łamach „Przyjaciółki” w latach 1970–1989. Przegląd problematyki

Abstract

The study will show the problems of politics in one of the most popular women’s magazines of the People’s Republic of Poland – “Przyjaciółka”. The research includes content published in the years 1970–1989, more precisely the press material used for the publication about 2 months before the parliamentary elections held, the voivodship national and presidential councils, and the period of about two weeks after them. For the purpose of the article, the method of press content analysis (according to the methodology of Walery Pisarek) was used, as well as the qualitative and quantitative method. The aim of the work is to show the extent to which the editorial staff of “Przyjaciółka” presented the issue of broadly understood policy in the numbers of his letter. As a result of the initial analysis of the press, it was established that the political topics were not the dominant issues appearing in the magazine (if only due to the character of the weekly), however, the content of political articles had a big impact on the knowledge and awareness of the addressees who were less interested the world of politics. The texts appearing in the journal were informative and educational in nature, lacking in-depth analysis and reflection on a given topic.
