Abstract

What is childish in today’s literature? Is it a special world, special themes, some specific characters, or, perhaps, a special type of conflict? Or, for example, an “adult” language? To understand all this is quite difficult – because of a great number of different types of “childish” in modern children’s books. That’s the main focus of the article. The rejection of stereotyping is extremely productive, as it will allow us at look with an open mind to new books for children and to reflect adequately some of the modern trends in the field of children’s literature.
