Abstract

This article deals with the archetypes of home and stranger in the poetry collection of Ales Razanau “Hannoversche punktierungen” (2002). The introductory part describes the importance of the above archetypes for Belarusian culture. The author considers the manifestations of archetypes of home and stranger at the levels of imagery, phonetics, colour range and syntax. The main motifs discovered are those of loss, going astray and nowhere. The home archetype is rendered mainly through the images of people and buildings. Other stylistic peculiarities pointed out are the dialogue between the author and the reader, colouristics and its function in rendering the main idea as well as personification of things, flora and natural phenomena.
