Функція речі в ритуалі та повсякденному житті (на матеріалі українських історичних романів у віршах)

Abstract

The article deals with the elements of ethnic culture in modern Ukrainian historical novels in verse − Mykola Tyutyunnyk’s “Marusya Bohuslavka”, Lina Kostenko’s “Marusya Churay”, Mariya Balashova’s “Roksolana’s Wreath”. The artistic conception of these works is based on real and legendary facts; there are deep philosophical generalizations and introduction to the historical (the 16th – 18th centuries) context, it’s the time of the Ukrainians’ struggle for independence, liberation of the native land from social and national oppression. The authors, “expressing the character of whole epoch”, stress the epic picture by domestic and ethnographic descriptions of holidays, customs and rituals, divinations, folk songs, ritual things. Historical novels in verse are rich in images of concepts that have original mental content, transmit realistic features of folk costumes (wreath, embroidered shirt), emphasize its elegance and aesthetics, sacred, stimulate the recipient’s interest in the identity of the national life, encourage the meaningful modifications which are reveales in the transformation of ethno-cultural scope and originality of its artistic expression.
