Символика реквизита в современной белорусской драматургии

Abstract

The present article is devoted to the symbolism of theatrical properties (props) in dramatic texts by chosen Belorussian playwrights such as: Siarhiej Kawalou, Ihar Sidaruk, Ales Dudar, Mikola Arachousky. As the author of the article demonstrates, the role of props in drama is remarkable and the interpretation of their significance usually takes place at two levels – at the level of verbal record in the text and at the level of theatrical signs encoded there. The world of things, understood as such, creates the sphere of human everyday and non-everyday life simultaneously, the realm of what is visible and what transcends beyond this realm, as well as constitutes a specified reality, which also quite often goes in the direction of abstraction.
