Wychowanie patriotyczne w przedszkolach II Rzeczypospolitej

Abstract

The fact that Poland regained its independence after the long-lasting non-existence made it necessary to redefine the idea of patriotism. The newly created state required its own educational institutions which could be used for upbringing new generations. Following the statutory law O USTROJU SZKOLNICTWA which was promulgated on the llof March 1932, the kindergartens became the part of the educational system and were the places where the certa in values and ideas were supposed to be taught. In spite of the difficult economic and financial situation of the new state, each year there were more and more qualified kindergar­ten teachers prepared and ready to educate and introduce the required patriotic, social and religious values. The analysis of the sources shows that no matter what political options governed the country, throughout the whole period of time between the two World Wars, the main educa­tional motto was "God, honour, the country". The kindergarten teach­ ers of the time also had their share in the process.
