Abstract

The article presents the new building of the University Library including the u tility design and the modern functional solutions. The new concept of the book collection is presented - the introduction of the free access and the organization of the collection storage according to the Universal Decimal Classification. The article also discusses the cultural and promotional activity of the library. It indicates the architectonical and equipment solutions in terms of adapting the building to the needs of the disabled people. In the final part of the work the author makes the analysis of the functional solutions with 5-years experience perspective.
