Tożsamość europejska w kontekście Wspólnoty

Abstract

Subnational identity is a consequence of participation in wider social circles and extending regional or national identities. Being an inhabitant of Europe does not mean, having an European identity, which means European culture, civilization, history, values and "roots". Particularly adolescents would feel and experience "atrificial European identity" while passive goods' consumption (exactly the same trends in each European country). The author focuses readers' attention on the tasks of intercultural/international education- on active integration of Europeans with "new Europeans" and "non-citizents". She emhasises the needs and importance of creating intercultural identity, while interpersonal contacts in reality and pro European attitudes while European education. The author presents the results from the research, which she did in 2008 at Klaipeda University about feeling of being European in a group of Belgian, Dutch, Finnish, Lithuanian and Polish students.
