Abstract

The article focuses on the importance of family in the creation of emotions and patriotic values in the academic youth. The author presents the study on shaping the values and emotions related to the motherland in young people by the familial environment. The analysis of the results exemplifies the complexities of upbringing in accordance with the notion of patriotism, which is partially due to the numerous dilemmas the contemporary man has to face. The scholar not only strives to seek for the correct patriotic attitude that should be characteristic of a young man but also presents a number of factors determining the indifference of the generation of youngsters towards patriotism. The author highlights the substantial influence of the family on child's approach, and in the future of a grown man towards the question of the motherland. At the same time the instigator emphasises the fact that contemporary families neglect the patriotic upbringing. The author claims that schools should back up the families in patriotic education. It is possible to achieve by means of openness and dialogue in the collaboration of the familial environment with the scholastic one.
