Uwolnić Korczaka? Zagadnienie praw autorskich do spuścizny autora Króla Maciusia Pierwszego

Abstract

This texts depicts the situation of the late writer in view of the bureaucracy of law. It presents the post-war history of state institutions' supervision over the literary legacy of Janusz Korczak who died childless. The author uses archival materials kept, among others, by the Korczakianum Centre for Documentation and Research and the Association of Authors ZAiKS. On the basis of the documents from the 1950s stored in the District Court in Lublin, Sęczek reconstructs the process of establishing the dates of birth and death of the Old Doctor which blatantly differ from the factual and commonly known ones. Additionally, the materials retained in the State Archive of Warsaw enable the researcher to falsify the well-established outlook (according to so called "korczakologia", i.e. the studies on Korczak) concerning the lost register containing Henryk Goldszmit's personal data.
