Abstract

Documents from the Main Office of Control of Press, Publications and Shows were moved to the Central Archives of Modern Records in 1990. At the time of the transition, the collection consisted of 3788 units with the total of 163,30 metres of records. It has been documented in hand-over reports prepared by the Main Office's employees in five parts. lt was one of the most often popular collections in the laboratory of the Central Archives of Modern Records. It has never been fully compiled. Due to the bad physical state of the records and the problems resulting from the imprecise hand-over reports which made it difficult to find information interesting for users, the decision was made to withdraw the documents from being accessible, prepare a new, correct list and appropriately preserve the Main office's records. They will be re-arranged and the database linked with the new list will include personal, factual and geographical entries.
