Aktywność zawodowa kobiet z niepełnosprawnością – stan, uwarunkowania, potrzeby

Abstract

The literature on the subject usually presents a broad context of the situation of people with disabilities without clearly indicating the situation of women. Therefore, their professional activity is also treated marginally. In order to fill the knowledge gap on this subject, research was carried out to learn about the determinants of the professional path of women with disabilities. The study involved 51 women with legally confirmed disabilities, aged 18-60, professionally active or inactive. The applied interpretative-narrative research methods made it possible to obtain in-depth information on the respondents' personal attitudes to their own experiences, motives for decisions related to taking up employment or not taking up employment in the labour market, and the broadly understood consequences of this fact. The following chapters of the monograph present: the situation of the surveyed women in the labour market, its conditions, consequences resulting from professional inactivity, as well as their needs and expectations. Various aspects of the professional and social reality of women with visual, auditory, intellectual and motor disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and mental diseases were shown.
