Mapa wyobraźni tatarskiej. O doświadczeniu przestrzeni geograficznej w poezji Tatarów polskich i Tatarów kazańskich

Abstract

This essay considers the problem of geographic space in the poetry of Polish Tatars, in particular in the works of Selim Chazbijewicz, Musa Czachorowski and Michał Adamowicz, and Volga Tatars (Gabdulla Tukaj, Renat Charis, Razil Waliejew, Mudarris Agliamow and others). By analyzing the problem of the map of spatial representations, Czerwiński shows how the oeuvre of Polish Tatars is similar to that of the Kazan Tatars, and how it differs. The first part of the essay discusses the historical context associated with Polish Tatars’ cultural geography and their experience of “double emigration” (historically, from the Golden Horde to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and more re cently from Vilnius to the so-called Recovered Territories in the twentieth century). Next, the author analyzes how space experienced and inherited from ancestors is represented in Polish-Tatar poetry. The last part of the essay compares how geographic space is modeled in the poetry of Polish and Volga (Kazan) Tatars.
