Одесса в творческой судьбе Александра Ивановича Куприна

Abstract

In the article one of the most significant periods in the creative fate of I. A. Kuprin related to its stay in Odessa is displayed. Indicated that the writer constantly went to Odessa, especially frequently in 1913 – 1916. Setting in article materials based on the memoirs of the wife, the daughter of the writer and his contemporaries. In the article is noted that Odessa perceived by I.A. Kuprin as a cultural center in which periodicals, fiction, theatre art, literature meetings have been developed. Highlighted the attention to the relationship of Kuprin and A. P. Chekhov, I.A. Bunin and S.G. Skitalets with whom he was familiar owing to the writer A.V. Fedorov on the „dachas” of whom all noted writers stayed. The author of the article believes that „Dacha” of A.V. Fedorov was the certain location where the contradiction „my - others” that was typical for communication of A.I. Kuprin in Moscow and St. Petersburg was overcomed. The stories created in Odessa, differ with poetic vision of the city, its landscape, a sense of special mentality. In this regard in the article the analysis of the stories „White Acacia” and „Hambrinus” is set. The article states that A. I. Kuprin, following Turgenev's tradition, creates a special lyric world, which is manifested in the fascinating world of nature, sea, which Kuprin felt in Odessa (Ivan Bunin writes about this in his memoires). A. I. Kuprin, as stated in the article, appeals to the metaphoric and symbols, synthetic descriptions, invariant models of the world and human relations which are reconstructed by the heroe's memory. Relations between scene and the "external" description manifested on the scene, narrative, emotionally-styled and the theory valued levels.
