Abstract

Głównym celem niniejszej rozprawy było zbadanie procesów zachodzących wewnątrz stanu mieszczańskiego, jak również wzajemnych zależności struktury społecznej miasta. Z uwagi na szczególną specyfikę terenu poddane analizie zostały miasta prywatne ziemi drohickiej i mielnickiej. Ze względu na swoje położenie, oddalone od wpływów europejskich, najpóźniej przyjmowały wzorce europejskie. Ponadto duże zróżnicowanie pod względem struktury własnościowej i etnicznej uczyniły z tych terenów doskonały przedmiot badawczy. Rozprawa została podzielona na cztery rozdziały. Pierwszy został poświęcony podstawom prawnym funkcjonowania miast prywatnych znajdujących się na badanym terenie. Zbadano przywileje lokacyjne, prawa i obowiązki, jakim podlegali mieszkańcy w poszczególnych miastach. Omówiona została również problematyka jurysdykcji. Drugi rozdział omawia stosunki społeczne, jakie panowały w badanych miastach, warunki osiedleńcze oraz obyczaje i życie codzienne. W trzecim rozdziale autorka zbadała warunki i możliwości prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej miast prywatnych ziemi drohickiej i mielnickiej oraz zasady funkcjonowania cechów rzemieślniczych. Ostatni rozdział zawiera problematykę topografii miast, ich architekturę oraz zmiany w układzie przestrzennym. Tu tez znalazły się regulacje porządkowe wydawane przez właścicieli. Rozprawa zawiera ponadto aneksy, mapy, tabele, ilustracje oraz indeks osobowy i geograficzny.
