Abstract

The given article, Russian Pop-literature and Worldview – a Sketch (Based on the Materials From the Selected Love Stories From the Turn of the 20th and 21st Centuries), is a try to show that the stereotypic image of a woman in Russian literature is slowly assuming a different form. The main female love story characters are transforming from pitiful “Cinderellas” into women conscious of their needs. The same concerns the petrified male image that more often than not is being modified from “a prince on a white horse” into an ordinary man with his own faults and virtues. It seems worth studying more closely the evolution of the process of the image creation of female and male characters in Russian love stories. It may help to extend the knowledge of Russian pop literature.
