Дом и бездомье: топос Дом в пьесе Леонида Андреева Жизнь человека

Abstract

The investigation of this topic is one of the most popular trends in contemporary literary sciences. It often turns to the study of stereotypes, universals, frames, which facilitate the identification of the mechanisms of preservation and development of culture. This article explores the topos Home in the L. Andreev’s dramatic piece "The Life of a Man", which was created in the transitional era («Silver Age»). We identify several semantic levels oа the topos Home depending of the level of its perception: real, social (axiological), psychological and culturalogical. They correlate with the levels of artistic space (real, perceptual or conceptional). The topos Home is presented on a solid, axiological, psychological and culturalogical basis. We consider its visual (attitude to color and light), acoustic (correlation “sound / silence”), tactile (dyad “cold / heat”) specifications, overall changes in its exterior and interior throughout the text. Such locuses as meadow, forest, prison, castle, baby room, church, tavern (anti-home) express the author’s outlook. We found that semantics of the topos Home, represented at the different levels of the text space, is manifested through the semantics of color, light, sound. The topos Home is represented on the real and perceptual levels. It should be noted that the destruction of the house (home) as a cultural constant is due to the transitional era and the changing of the cultural paradigm.
