Wyrażanie drwiny w idiolekcie Andrzeja Sapkowskiego (na podstawie Trylogii husyckiej)

Abstract

The aim of the author of the text is analysis of the specific feature of idiolect used by Andrzej Sapkowski – metacomments like taunted / was taunting / he said with a sneer (taunt) in his voice, introducing negative statements made by the characters as well as the function of these metacomments. Parentheses, periphrastic, judging and/or interpreting comments sometimes with additional information about the sound layer of an expression are typical for Sapkowski’s idiolect. Selection and large frequency of parenthetical comments including taunt may be related to the choice of topic and historical background. The metacomments help qualify expressions as a particular type. They have similar function, as intonation in speech; they decrypt a negative attitude towards the recipient‑an object of taunt. Reference to taunt as an act of speech and an evaluation act allows Sapkowski to dynamically play situations, characterize negative characters, as well as indicate the complicated relations between the supporters, enemies, old and new allies. Fact that person1 taunts something / person2 on some basis [in some way] informs us about the position of person1 and person2 in the fictional world.
