Idiostyl a metafora pojęciowa

Abstract

The author attempts to capture the interrelation between idiostyle and a conceptual metaphor (and its linguistic exponents). The subject of deeper consideration here is a metaphor understood as a pheno‑ menon characteristic of human thinking, structuring human experience and participating in the processes of understanding. The concept of a metaphor profiled in this way is shown as a specific property co‑establishing individual style of a writer. The material illustration for our theoretical considerations are conceptual metaphors of a city appearing in reportages by R. Kapuscinski.
