Abstract

Tanatopedagogy is a subdiscipline of pedagogy dedicated to education in aspect of illness and death. It is originated from hospice and voluntary movement, whose aims are to improve life conditions of people who suffer and prepare family and friends to participate in the final phenomena. Perceiving people who are ill and suffer as “Others” leads to seek for common interests of intercultural pedagogy and tanatopedagogy, but also for basic concepts of education in intercultural contexts.
