Abstrakt: The national celebrations of the Year of Julian Tuwim became the reason for starting works on the preparation of a book which would be a continuation of the scientific discourse that has been going on for years, concerning the phe-nomenon of one of the greatest Polish poets. On the initiative of the students of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Białystok, members of the "Humanists Club" Students' Scientific Club, the National Scientific Conference was organized "Julian Tuwim. Tradition – reception – research perspectives". The book is the result of research by scholars from many academic centers in the country: Krakow, Warsaw, Poznań, Katowice, Gdańsk, Warsaw, Zielona Góra, Łódź, Vienna and, of course, Białystok. The subject matter of the collect-ed works is wide and concerns both linguistic, historical, poetic, as well as trans-lational and even political issues. The first part contains texts referring to Tuwim's writing workshop, showing sources of inspiration and the properties of his masterly poetics. The second part is devoted to the reception and associations of Tuwim's work with the poetry of other poets. The third part contains essays devoted to the evolution of the poet's worldview, from returning to childhood to apocalyptic visions; there are also texts demonstrating the in-depth social diagnosis present in Tuwim's works. Part four shows Tuwim as an author who still poses challenges in the field of translation, and constitutes a rich source for literary scholars. Julian Tuwim was a writer sensitive to everything that could be a source of admiration, but also for the pain of a man, for his problems, which he encased in poetry. He was a witness of faith and doubt, he was able to talk about the nooks and crannies of the human soul, without losing his subtlety and not exceeding the limits set by "good taste". This book includes the works of researchers that are a reception of Tuwim's work, allow it to be discovered, explored and made constantly present. There are also works that present Tuwim as an author cross-ing the boundaries of his time, place him in the pantheon of bards, which is a challenge and a commitment for future generations of readers looking for what is really beautiful, good and true in literature.
