Творчество Григола Робакидзе в отношении к немецкому романтическому мировоззрению

Abstract

The work highlights romantic tendency in the creativity of the Georgian emigrant writer – Grigol Robakidze which reveals similarity with the creativity of the German romanticist – Novalis. This closeness is expressed first of all at a level of ideology and world outlook. The main theme of both writers’ creations is intuition-based cognition. Their characters learn about the world through self-immersion. Love as well as poetry serves as the instrument of self-knowledge. A child is a favorite personage of both writers because of its closeness with the Absolute and special world outlook. In both writers the motif of traveling is associated with cognition. The interchange of life and death indicates the eternity of the world. There is a similar attitude of the writers to East-West polarity. In a symbolic and semantic contradiction between two parts of the world the priority is given to the East, where in contrast to the West the link with proto-origin is preserved. Despite the fact that G. Robakidze lived in exile and wrote in German, he was interested only in Georgian themes and described Georgian events of his contemporary epoch, though in his creative works romantic tendency developed under the influence of German romantic philosophy and world outlook is well-pronounced.
