Метафизика искусственного тела в новеллистике Р. Брэдбери (Электрическое тело пою!)

Abstract

The article focuses on the symbolical implements of the artificial body image in Ray Bradbury’s story "I sing the body electric!" (1969). The story comprises both the robot imagery and the topic of resurrection, which is particularly important for Bradbury. Moreover, there are two intertwining interpretations of resurrection: psychological and moral, almost didactic, turning the story into an allegory of love. The article also considers the main allusions of the story, Egyptian and Christian, reflecting the central oppositions of love and death, light and shadow.
