Abstract

Anthropological shifts taking place in the modern culture have been examined in the article using the example of the transformation of the opposition of a nude/clothed person. It has been shown that the global modification of the value connotations concerning clothing and nudity occurs in former Soviet states. It has been maintained that the negative perception of the new social and cultural situation has been caused by the conservative tendencies which stand against the widening of the sphere of personal freedom, the forming of the most complete and harmonious person’s ideal in unity of his mental and corporal main point. The coming-to-be of the new anthropological species taking place during the present stage of the cultural development has been accompanied by the removal of the complicated semiotical prohibition which earlier characterized the attitude toward clothing and nudity.
