Abstract

The typological research of Russian and Belarusian dramatic art at the beginning of the 21st century is a topical and priority problem in modern literary criticism. In this article we will try to single out the general and specific tendencies in modern Russian and Belarusian drama. Russian and Belarusian theatre has formed traditions of research and reflection of contemporary problems. Playwrights of the “old” (E. Popova, A. Delendik, A. Taganov, S. Bartohova) and the “new” generation (P. Prazhko, N. Rytkovsky, A. Kyreichik, K. Steshik, M. Dosko) are interested in the state of modern society, which is called problematic and disharmonic.
