O zastosowaniu tłumaczenia avista w dydaktyce języków obcych

Abstract

Postępująca globalizacja, informatyzacja i integracja wpływają na zmieniające się wymagania pracodawców. Coraz częściej poszukuje się osób, które sprawnie poruszają się w obrębie przynajmniej jednego języka obcego i języka ojczystego. Wzrasta też zapotrzebowanie na specjalistów-tłumaczy. Zmienia się więc postrzeganie translacji, staje się ona coraz bardziej atrakcyjnym elementem programów studiów. Tłumaczenie avista polega na tłumaczeniu ustnym tekstu pisanego, najczęściej bez przygotowania. Jest to forma pośrednia pomiędzy przekładem a tłumaczeniem ustnym. Dzięki temu tłumaczenie avista może być skuteczną formą rozwijania kompetencji translatorskich oraz ogólnych językowych. W konsekwencji umiejętność tłumaczenia avista może stanowić odpowiedź na bieżące potrzeby studentów, uczelni wyższych oraz rynku pracy. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja opinii na temat zastosowania tłumaczenia avista w dydaktyce, a także informacji zebranych metodą wywiadu oraz ankiety od nauczycieli akademickich prowadzących zajęcia z praktycznej nauki języka obcego oraz dydaktyków translacji.

Advancing globalisation, informatization and integration result in changing expectations of employers. People who aptly switch between at least one foreign language and their mother tongue as well as trained translators/interpreters are higly sought-after. Perception of translation is undergoing a change, too. It is becoming an increasingly attractive component of study programmes. Sight translation is an oral rendition of a written text, usually done instantaneously. Sight translation combines features of translation and interpretation. Thus, it can be an effective method to develop not only translation but also general linguistic competence. Consequently, the ability to perform sight translation can respond to the needs of current students, universities and job market. The aim of this paper is to present opinions on application of sight translation in teaching as well as to share information collected in an interview and a questionnaire among academic teachers of translation/interpretation and teachers of practical foreign language classes.
