Kilka uwag dotyczących konsekwencji naruszenia praw własności intelektualnej w znowelizowanej ustawie o szkolnictwie wyższym

Abstract

Intellectual property rights currently play a very important role in educational institutions. The rules on managing and commercializing intellectual property created by scientists, PhD candidates and students, as well as rules governing disciplinary responsibility (besides civil and criminal liability) in the case of infringement of intellectual property rights, were already present in the Act of 27 July 2005 on Higher Education. Recent amendments of that act (enacted in 2011 and 2014) introduce significant changes in this field. More emphasis has been placed on combating the illegal use of copyright works in degree theses. This is to be achieved by obligatory proof checking of each paper with anti-plagiarism software and establishing a national database (repository) of degree theses.
