Abstract

The present study addresses spatial order as the precedent principle of space management. The issue of the concept of spatial order and the problems of its development at various stages of development planning provides background discussion. The author then focuses on the individual characteristics of the the concept in terms of social, environmental, economic, cultural and aesthetic order. Responsibility for the level and creation of spatial order lies with public entities, particularly in local municipalities, that have the tools to act with. The inefficient use of land resources in the country arising from poor planning practices and inadequate zoning, serves to justify the claim that we are dealing with a crisis of spatial order.
