Abstrakt: Rwanda today faces various challenges of civilization, first of all, however, it has ti copy with the legacy of the ehnic genocide. Not surprisingly, that one of the fundamental tasks that the country and its government set itself after 1994 became the problem of the legal judgement of persons responsible for genocide and of the establishing of national unity, which would prevent Rwanda from the next conflict. Therefore, apart from judging on a massive scale all those guilty of crimes, the government has taken parallel action for the idea of commemorating the victims and began the process of building national unity. Today, Rwanda is a place for education which aims at the creation of a one national community and the state, in other words „education for the community”.</description>

Abstrakt: Knowledge of the Kashubian language is the result of geographical, political, historical location of Kashubian as community. “Natural proximity” of Kashubian to Polish leads to questions about the status of Kashubian language as a separate language or as a dialect of Polish. Knowledge of Kashubian language describes the political, social (including educational) condition. Changing knowledge of Kashubian modification the political condition of the Kashubian culture and identity.</description>

Abstrakt: What is focused on in the search for the mechanisms of constructing young people’s identity is the role and significance of the socio-cultural environment and formal and non-formal intercultural education, which supports individuals in the unceasing creation of their own Self, in understanding the world and organizing positive intercultural relations. In the theoretical framework of the undertaken considerations, the following concepts are referred to: J. Kozielecki’s concept of the multidimensional human, J. Nikitorowicz’s concept of constantly created identity, T. Lewowicki’s theory of identity behaviours, and M. Sobecki’s concept of identification profiles. The assumption is made that shaping the multidimensional identity of the young first of all requires cultural rooting, educational activities and the support of educational policy. Against the background of the research conducted systematically for 25 years among the youth from the Polish-Czech borderland, the dynamics is shown of shaping the young generation’s feeling of identity. Moreover, the intensity of identifications is diagnosed as well as young people’sidentification profiles, which provide information on interrelations between particularidentification dimensions in declarations of a person. Abstrakt: Many regions of Europe are witnessing the reconstruction of regional identity, especially in places where radical social, cultural and economic changes occur. Economic restructuring is a factor of particular importance – it has always affected the stability of units such as a region, town and sometimes even a country. In Poland, this is well visible in the Silesian Voivodship, including in one of its sub-regions, the Dąbrowa Basin, presented in the paper. This young region, created as a result of 19-century pan-European industrialization, is inhabited mainly by descendants of immigrants from rural and small-town areas of Lesser Poland (Małopolska). Attempts have begun in many local groups and circles to strengthen the region’s identity – a process often accompanied by the creation of this identity and by inventing and hand-picking passages of the region’s history that serve this purpose. This poses a significant challenge for regional education where a serious dilemma appears: how to tackle invented tradition, how to evaluate it and what functions to assign to it.</description>
