Abstrakt: The book written by Anna Stawarska-Rippel is dedicated to one of the most important problems concerning the evolution of Polish civil proceedings in the 20th century. She describes the basic rules of Polish civil proceedings, showing their evolution in comparative perspective. Austrian, Swiss, German, French regulations are shown to illustrate the motives of the Polish legislator before World War II. Soviet regulations were introduced into Polish law after the war. Not all of them should have been abolished after the fall of communism in 1989. The book written by A. Stawarska-Rippel is a valuable contribution into the research on the history of Polish civil proceedings. It is also important for those who work on recodification of Polish civil proceedings now.

Abstrakt: Before Polish legislation regulated this aspect, psychologists often criticised lack of separate regulations concerning the special treatment of minors. Psychologists claim that during conducting this legal action one needs to take into account many additional factors, such as the emotional development of a child and the child’s emotional maturity and sense of security. The idea of friendly rooms for interrogation was a crowning achievement of appealing for a psychological and legal environment for many years. The aim of this article is to present the idea of friendly rooms of interrogation in light of current regulations, and also to present the origin of the idea up to its realisation and the change of legal regulations in this matter. It is also necessary to prove, basing on analysis of the origin of establishing these rooms and legal regulations, that the existence of blue rooms is essential and intentional in order to provide correctness of proceedings with the participation of children in an appropriately adjusted environment. The standards of interrogation of minors, witnesses and victims, and instructions in relation to the appearance and equipment of interrogation and technical rooms are described in the article. Also addressed is the procedure involved when interrogating minors in so-called ”blue rooms”. The ultimate goal of the article is to find an answer to the question of whether the protection of a child in the light of the legal regulations in force is effective.

Abstrakt: This Article is about the nature of contacts between the so-called “peripheral” parents and children. It discusses the issue of dependence of access rights on parental authority, over the subsequent amendments of the family law in Poland. The paper describes the basic forms of exercising contacts between parents and children. It also presents forms of regulating them in legal proceedings. The guiding principles which should guide the court in issuing decisions which determine the scope and method of contact of parents with children are pointed out in the article. It also shows the institution of “alternate care” introduced to the Family and Guardianship Code under the Act of 25 June 2015 amending the Act - Code of Family and Guardianship Code and the Law - Code of Civil Procedure, which entered into force on 29 August 2015.
