Tytuł: Przeklęty i zapomniany? Sceny z życia Józefa Emanuela Przecławskiego. Część druga
Autorzy: Fieduta, Aleksander
Abstrakt: The article is devoted to the controversial, pro-Russian Polish editor of “Tygodnik Petersburski”, Józef Emmanuel Przecławski. He was the alumnus of the Vilnius University and a contemporary of Adam Mickiewicz and the Philomaths, later to become loyal to the Russian Empire. The author of the article uses the Russian socio-political background to analyse the correspondence between Przecławski, the periodical’s censor and the Tsar’s advisors who, over the objections of chief editor, collaborated to transform the weekly into a bilingual Polish-Russian edition. The analysis is based on citations from the Russian archives sources.

Tytuł: Między świadectwem przeszłości a rodzinną legendą. O wspomnieniach Tatarów polskich
Autorzy: Czerwiński, Grzegorz
Abstrakt: The text discusses the journals of the representatives of Polish Tatars, and it includes both distinguished artistic texts and those written by non-professional writers. While interpreting the most important works by such authors as, e.g. Mustafa Aleksandrowicz, Jan Sobolewski, Zulia Janowicz-Czaińska Drotlew, the article’s author attempts to invent a methodology which would be suitable for representatives of small ethnic groups.

Poezja i poznanie. O poemacie "Eliasz" Bolesława Leśmiana

Tytuł: Poezja i poznanie. O poemacie "Eliasz" Bolesława Leśmiana
Autorzy: Łazicka, Agnieszka
Abstrakt: The author attempts to demonstrate that the poem "Eliasz" by Bolesław Leśmian has cognitive character. She devotes a lot of attention to the connections between Leśmian poetry and realistic symbolism. Part of the article concerns the poet’s description of the netherworld. Furthermore, it inquires whether the poem accomplishes the ultimate pursuit of poetry – remaining open to one true reality, free of individualism and intellectual constraints. Eventually, the interpretation demonstrates how, through a detached protagonist – "Eliasz", Leśmian begins to doubt the power of poetry to bring one back to primeval cognitive context, to such state of mind where reality is experienced directly through intuition and imagination.

Modlitewna skarga „ani przeciw ludziom – ani przeciw Bogu”. Refleksja nad motywem łez w dwóch wierszach Juliusza Słowackiego

Tytuł: Modlitewna skarga „ani przeciw ludziom – ani przeciw Bogu”. Refleksja nad motywem łez w dwóch wierszach Juliusza Słowackiego
Autorzy: Mazur, Anna
Abstrakt: The article reinterprets the two poems which Juliusz Słowacki wrote while travelling to the Holy Land. Unlike in previous interpretations, here the author uses the motif of tears to uncover the poems’ emotional value and to situate them in the tradition of romanticism. Other poems from the same period set the interpretative context and anticipate the poet’s spiritual growth. Consequently, the article is yet another attempt to demonstrate the emotive characteristics of Słowacki’s lyric poetry. Moreover, it shows how his works are related to his biographical background.
