Tytuł: Wilno w tekstach Adama Kirkora
Autorzy: Wojciechowski, Paweł
Abstrakt: The text presents the image of the city (Wilno) contained in various Adam Honory Kirkor’s books. It is a meticulous and at the same time complicated image, allowing for getting to know the city and understanding its history, cultural heritage and topography. Architecture, folklore, historical relics, people of merit for culture and ordinary inhabitants - on the pages of these books - are intertwined in the past everyday life. These books - Przechadzki po Wilnie i jego okolicach - constitute a city document, a chronicle, a tourist guide, an itinerary, and above all a significant and timeless text of culture.

Tytuł: Folklor w polskim teatrze lalek - między ograniczeniem a wyzwoleniem wyobraźni
Autorzy: Wiśniewska, Marzenna
Abstrakt: The title of the article refers to the discussion about the function of folklore in the Polish puppet theatre, which took place in Poland at the end of the 1980s. Inspirations with folklore in the theatre in the second half of the last century resulted in the creation of a strong trend of colorful shows, which were a repository of traditional art, as well as cultural memory, and represented the puppet national style. Meanwhile, the most interesting artistic dialogue with folklore it has been and still is today in authors theatre projects. The article presents selected phenomena in the Polish puppet theatre, in which folk culture has become a source of new theatrical concepts in the field of material performance, animation, actors expression, and anthropological dimension of performances. The reflection focuses on the work of Jan Wilkowski and Adam Kilian, Jan Dorman and the Wierszalin Theatre.

Inspiracje folklorem we współczesnym teatrze amatorskim

Tytuł: Inspiracje folklorem we współczesnym teatrze amatorskim
Autorzy: Fox, Dorota
Abstrakt: Setting the direction of development of folk theatres in the 1920s, Jędrzej Cierniak pointed out the need for skilful use of folklore. In his view, this basic resource of texts and theatrical practice allowed such theatres to maintain their distinctiveness and original beauty. Over the following years, the amateur folk theatre took advantage of the advice from the editor of Teatr Ludowy (the Peoples Theatre) to varying degrees. I try to show this by sketching the stories of amateur theatre groups which came into being in Poland after World War II against the background of social and political changes and by describing various strategies for the use of folklore in their performances, such as reconstruction, remix, quote or etno-performance. I discuss them in the context of folklorism, cultural revivalism, and also in the context of artistic practice with a special aesthetic potential in order to indicate to what extent amateur theatres manage to preserve in the Polish imaginarium traces of the past traditions from various regions of Poland preserved in their scripts and ritual performances, to revive them and exploit their performative potential.
