The present monograph is therefore a kind of meta-refl ection on the mechanisms that enable such an international cooperation. The International Conference “The Cooperation Between the Polish and Ukrainian Researchers in Humanities. History – Ideas – Projects,” which took place on 20–21 September 2019 in Kiev, was organized by several institutions: The Chair in Philological Studies “East – West” from the Faculty of Philology AT the University of Białystok; The Fist Faculty of Philology at the Polish Acade my of Learning; the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kiev; and the representative office of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The debate took place on the main campus of the Taras Shevchenko University. The Organizing Committee was headed by Professor Jarosław Ławski (the University of Białystok), Professor Lucjan Suchanek (the Polish Academy of Learning, Cracow), Professor Leonid Huberski (Kiev) and Professor Rościsław Radyszewski (Kiev). Twenty-five scholars from Poland and Ukraine focused on the following problems: – The literary and cultural representations of the university in Ukraine and Poland. – The cultural, literary, and linguistic transfer between Ukraine and Poland from the perspective of the past and present. – The role of the academy of sciences in the creation of the scholarly cooperation between Ukraine and Poland. – The cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish universities: the experience so far, perspectives, ideas, and projects. – The historical, cultural and geopolitical contexts of the cooperation between the researchers in humanities from Ukraine and Poland. – The role of linguists, historians, historians of literature, and ethnographers in the process of creating of the common picture of Central and Eastern Europe. The articles gathered in the present monograph are divided into four thematic chapters: I. “The Ethos of the Humanist: Eastern Europe” (concerning the ethos of the lecturer, the reforms of the university, the influence of the globalization on the cooperation between academies and universities); II. “Eastern European Intersections and Bridges” (concerning the specific problems in the field of the cooperation between Ukraine and Poland); III. “A Glace at History” (concerning the people and institutions responsible for upholding the scholarly tradition in Ukraine and Poland); IV. “The Interpretations of Literary Phenomena” (containing detailed analyses of the works by the writers from Eastern Europe). Part of the Conference proceedings was published in Kijowskie Studia Polonistyczne (Vol. XXVI, Kiev 2020). The volume was edited by Professor Jarosław Ławski (the University of Białystok) and Lucjan Suchanek (Director of the First Faculty of Philology of the Polish Academy of Learning). The Polish-Ukrainian Project was financed from the funds provided by the program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education “The Regional Initiative of Excellence,” which has been carried out at the Faculty of Philology, the University of Białystok since 2019, and will continue up to 2022.; Поданий том є результатом ініціативи дослідників із України та Польщі, які вирішили організувати наукову конференцію не на конкретну тему, а запропонувати рефлексію над самою ідеєю співпраці українських і польських гуманітаріїв. Монографія частково є виразом метарефлексії над механізмами, які керують розвитком гуманітаристики в обох країнах і можливостях міжнародної кооперації. Роботи, зібрані в монографії, поділено на чотири тематичні розділи: І. Die Monographie ist daher in ihrem Teil Ausdruck einer Meta-Reflexion über die Mechanismen der geisteswissenschaftlichen Entwicklung in beiden Ländern und über die Möglichkeiten der internationalen Zusammenarbeit. Internationale wissenschaftliche Konferenz „Wissenschaftliche Zusammenarbeit ukrainischer und polnischer Humanisten. Geschichte – Ideen – Projekte“, haben in Kiew vom 20. bis zum 21. September 2019 die folgenden Institutionen vorbereitet: Lehrstuhl für Philologische Forschung „Ost-West“ am Philologischen Fachbereich der Universität zu Bialystok, Fachbereich I der Polnischen Akademie der Künste, Taras-Shevchenko-Nationaluniversität Kiew und die Vertretung der Polnischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Kiew. Die Sitzung fand auf dem Hauptcampus (dem so genannten Roten) der Taras-Schewtschenko-Universität in Kiew statt. Den Vorsitz des Organisationskomitees übernahmen: Prof. Jarosław Ławski (UwB Białystok, PAU), Prof. Lucjan Suchanek (PAU, Krakau), Prof. Leonid Huberski (Kiew) und Prof. Rościsław Radyszewski (Kiew). 25 Forscher aus der Ukraine und Polen (darunter acht polnischsprachige) haben während der Sitzung und in der Monographie (fünfzehn) folgende Themen aufgegriffen: – Literarische und kulturelle Bilder der Universität in der Ukraine und in Polen. – Kulturelle, literarische und sprachliche Vermittlung der ukrainisch-polnischen Sprache aus der Perspektive der Geschichte und der Gegenwart. – Die Rolle der Akademien der Wissenschaften bei der Schaffung einer wissenschaftlichen Zusammenarbeit zwischen Polen und der Ukraine. – Zusammenarbeit zwischen Universitäten der Ukraine und Polens: bisherige Erfahrungen, Perspektiven, Ideen, Projekte. – Historische, kulturelle und geopolitische Kontexte der Zusammenarbeit zwischen ukrainischen und polnischen Humanisten. – Die Rolle von Sprach- und Literaturexperten, Historikern und Ethnographen bei der Schaffung eines gemeinsamen Bildes von Mittel- und Osteuropa. Die in der Monographie gesammelten Abhandlungen sind in vier thematische Kapitel gegliedert: I. Ethos des Humanisten: der Osten Europas (Werke über das Ethos eines Dozenten, die Reform der Wissenschaft, der Einfl uss der Globalisierung auf die internationale Zusammenarbeit von Akademien und Universitäten); II. Mitteleuropäische Knoten und Brücken (Erörterung spezifischer Probleme der ukrainisch-polnischen Zusammenarbeit); III. Blick in die Geschichte (Erinnerung an die Menschen und Institutionen, die für die Aufrechterhaltung der wissenschaftlichen Tradition in der Ukraine und in Polen verantwortlich sind); IV. Interpretation literarischer Phänomene (detaillierte Analysen von Themen aus dem Werk mitteleuropäischer Schriftsteller). Einige der Materialien der Konferenz wurden in den „Kiewer Polnischen Studien“ veröffentlicht (Bd. XXVI, Kiew 2020). Das Werk wurde herausgegeben von: Prof. Jarosław Ławski (Universität zu Białystok, PAU) und Prof. Lucjan Suchanek (Direktor der 1. Philologischen Abteilung der PAU). Additionally, the article mentions the use of the so-called “newspeak,” the representation of the Stalin’s cult, and the ideological indoctrination that Soviet soldiers were subjected to. O rolach Anny Iwaszkiewiczowej w życiu i twórczości Jarosława Iwaszkiewicza Autorzy: Godlewska, Joanna Abstrakt: The aim of article is to analyse roles of Anna Iwaszkiewicz in life and literature of Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz. There are mentioned following: the subject of young fascination (she, like her husband had homosexual liking but she suppressed that feeling); an intellectual and spiritual patron of Iwaszkiewicz’s texts; the mother of his daughters and (sic!) imagined “mother” of writer, who calmed him after his personal tragedies; Eurydice who came through the mental illness; friend; medium connecting Iwaszkiewicz with the world of traditional values and social roles; mirror in which he could see himself, his creations and literary ideas. All the roles of Anna Iwaszkiewicz have been interpreted with using of biography of this famous couple, their memory prose and compositions of Iwaszkiewicz, who comes out an artist focused very much on himself, like homo aestheticus making his life a poetry. Complicated marriage of Iwaszkiwcz let us to see, that this relationship was planned and played by the poet. The inspiration was biography of Oscar Wilde and Andre Gide . The biography of the author of Panny z Wilka seems to be a narcistic homosexual biography inspired by modernist elegance and aesthetics of camp – cathegory defined ex post in XX century. The explanation why a significant part of the poet’s manuscripts was lost is based on the research works of Helena Filipionek and Agnieszka Durejko (PhD). The analysis of the surviving papers draws on Daukszta’s students’ letters as well as on some diary notes of the poet herself. The unknown writings contain her recollections from the 1940s and 1950s, and show the hardships of her postwar life and other personal problems she had to face at the time. The trial and tribulations were not without consequences on the content of her literary works. The article also presents some selected Russian-language verse of Daukszta.
