Spacer po terytoriach niedomkniętych, czyli śladami ekspresji geograficznych

Tytuł: Spacer po terytoriach niedomkniętych, czyli śladami ekspresji geograficznych
Autorzy: Kaczmarek, Jacek
Abstrakt: The text defines the concept of “unclosed territories”, the third category proposed by the author which completes his methodology of encoding, reading and interpreting geographical places. The author’s argument holds that physical accessibility of space does not automatically imply its openness. Further, in order to understand the visited space one must walk in the footsteps left by others. These may include a literary text, music, dance and interplay of senses. Leaving traces in physical space is an individual act tinted by “geographical expressions”. The author’s reflections draw from a variety of cultural texts and his own itineraries.

Tytuł: „Nie jesteśmy nomadami”. Przestrzeń francuskich przedmieść i tożsamość potomków imigrantów
Autorzy: Kamecka, Małgorzata
Abstrakt: The thesis of a symbolic significance of space for a particular community underscores the integrating role of place as a cultural value. The author analyses the connection between the space of French suburbs and the identity of their inhabitants, especially those of immigrant extraction. Therefore, she refers to selected texts of the rich output of French hip-hop artists. She places the pieces in the context of the responds given the French of immigrant roots surveyed in 2003. The analysis of the works of the French rappers demonstrates that their texts express a strong identity with the place of origin and residence built on cultural separateness and, simultaneously, on a strong feeling of social homogeneity of the quarter, which is an additional integrating factor.

Autorzy: Larenta, Anna
Abstrakt: The article attempts to present how the geographical site with its historical implications is reconstructed in Tokarczuk’s novel. The analyzed village of Iwanie, which played a significant role in the Frankist heresy, turns out to be a disappointment for the author.

Jerozolima Amosa Oza (na podstawie powieści Mój Michał)

Tytuł: Jerozolima Amosa Oza (na podstawie powieści Mój Michał)
Autorzy: Tarnowska, Beata
Abstrakt: The article presents the image of Jerusalem of the 1950s. Despite the realistic topography of the Holy City in My Michael, the line between the imagery of urban space and the world of the protagonist’s inner experiences has been blurred. The labirynth-like space of Jerusalem becomes not only the material equivalent of Hanna’s deteriorating mental health, but also a universal metaphor of loneliness, madness and suffering.
